Dwan Hall Discussions on selection and use of tire chains for Bobcat 753 skidsteer on snow and ice. Compare different types of chains, spacing, studs, and maintenance tips. You will high center LONG before you need front chains. Also, with chains on the back only, as you turn in driveways, and the front tires skid sideways, it doesn't tear things up. I used the chains on the front tires only because of the higher tire pressure????? Not sure if that was correct.

Thanks. If you only had 2 sets of singles both axles need be chained outside tires. If only one set or 3 railers, front axle back axle naked. As for chains, most skid steers don't have sufficient space between the tires and chain case to accommodate chains. maybe yours does. skid steers are like front end loaders in that they can be a little helpless on snow.
#1. I put together a set of monster snow chains for my 743B, 1/4 inch standard chain on every second side link. They seem to functionally make the tire larger. Question: is there enough slip between the front and back axles to allow a slight difference in wheel size? Should I be concerned about wear from this on drive chain and cogs? My question is does anyone run chains on their skid steer and if so do you run them on all 4 wheels or only 2. If only 2, which ones, front or rear? Any recommendations on where to get them?
