Determining the right pricing for skid steer work can be a crucial factor in your . Hello guys! Now that I'm done moving snow with my ASV, I'm getting ready to put the beast to work moving some earth and large, pre stacked piles of brush from downed trees. Mostly limbs and such collected over many years and I'm talking 8 piles approximately 25'w x 15'tall. All strewn throughout the property, in the woods. I have seen the larger skid steers, JD 270, Case 95XT with 6,000 and 7,000 hours. As 2109 Stang said, the 1845C was a great skid steer, partially because it was equipped with a huge engine that didn't have to work hard. Case used the same engine to power the full size backhoe loader.

For example, I had a customer this summer that insisted on being her own general contractor, and looking after her own subcontract work. I was hired to do the excavating for her 'pet project' (a new, larger patio area outside the basement walkout), and the excavating for the contractor hired to do work on the house, plus build a new deck. The way we normally charge for skid steer work is 0.00/day for the equipment/fuel, plus /hr for the operator. For a 10hr work day this would give you a total cost of 0.00 (which would work out to /hr). Where this is more advantageous for us is for smaller jobs. A 4hr project would run 0 (which is about 5/hr).

-But for the light work you will be doing almost any skidsteer will work. New Holland,Gehl, Bobcat. They are all good skidsteers we just happen to buy Bobcats because the dealer is practically in my backyard, and IMO they are one of the best brands out there. The really harsh reality is that an excavator will do 3X more work than the backhoe mounted on the back of a tractor, but it came at a cost. If you can afford both a skid steer and a mini excavator, there is no reason to own a tractor. A smaller skidsteer weighs in at bout 5500 pounds and a standard skidsteer trailer weights roughly 2200 pounds. =7700 pounds. It's a full load but its doable. When my truck i was getting worked on, I borrowed a 05 F150 and pulled a skidsteer 40 miles on the freeway. It pulled it fine, with trailer brakes did a lot of work.

We always make money and are rarely turned down. If they don't want to pay for the tractor I simply get a crew of 5 or 10 and charge per hour for each man I have on the job. They almost always choose the tractor once they figure . Skidsteer Work Jump to Latest 2K views 4 replies 4 participants last post by Mike33 Jun 14, 2006 Nope. Auger may work with a smaller bit. We have a 50” one for trees- it’s too big for a mini but the smaller 36” works fine. Trencher probably will be too big, hoe probably too big, forks will work but will be so heavy you’ll loose capacity. Bucket will work for mulch but not soil etc.
