Trying to figure out something about skid steer quick attach mounting plates. There are two sets of holes in the bottom of the bucket side attach plate. Why is this? As a discussion, a Skid Steer is designed to operate a very robust set of arms along with quite a number of equally robust attachments. Hence the (standardised?) Skid Steer Quick Attach [SSQA] is designed to to be equally robust & heavier. A FEL is designed, as an optional attachment to a tractor (and each brand has there own design), to lift. SSQA or Skid Steer Quick Attach was developed by Bobcat for use with skid steers. It became public domain here a while back, so everybody except John Deere uses it as the quick attach method on tractors now as well. JD uses a proprietary method on some of their tractors, but is slowly coming around.
BTW, I like the true SSQA better than the JD proprietary quick attach system. My neighbor has the JD system on his tractor, and as a result, we cannot share attachments. The SSQA is more universal, so a greater chance you can swap equipment between other tractors. There are literally 1000's of implements that will hook up to a skid steer quick attach vs the limited number for the J deere system. I really feel somewhere down the line you will be looking at a implement thats not offered in the deere style and regret going in that direction. Hi all, Has anyone converted their skid steer attachment to work off the hydraulics. Mine is the standard handle setup that pushes down the pins. I am just wondering how difficult it would be to tap into the machines hydraulic system. It is a komatsu sk-714 2004. Ronan
However, I have had the occasion to deal with some mini skid steer attachments. There is a greater cost associated with these as there is a more limited market for those attachments. Once you have an ideal of what you want, a today price comparison may provide you with the information to reach your decision. Sep 7, 2009 / Skid Steer Quick attach specs #8 . J_J Super Star Member.
