Last weekend, I bought an old Skid Steer at an auction. All labels, etc. have been removed or painted over. After much research, I have found out that it is a LAHMAN, built by HECLA MFG., SD. I believe it is a LAHMAN Model M20S Little Dipper. These skid steers were discontinued in 2000, when Hecla Mfg. was auctioned. This makes finding parts . I am looking at a 1979 Lahman 24hp Little Dipper skid loader with newer 24hp Honda motor. Newer paint, recently rebuilt pump, good tires. 2 buckets, 44" and 60". The guy is asking 00. It looks like a really nice machine, but as I have researched price seems high - looking for input and reviews. Check out the link to see pics: Hi, I find myself in possession of a Lahman skid steer. The motor runs, but when I use the control levers to turn it labors and starts to die. I looked in the reservoir and the oil is way over the top of the filter and seems pretty dirty. I bought the 6 page manual on eBay, but it is not much help. I am new to skid steers and hydraulics in general.
Mainly parts for the hydrolic valve manifold. (800) 853-2651. . lahman skid steer. Thread starter Scott .
This message is a reply to an archived post by Lahman M20 Owner on April 09, 2018 at 13:51:19. The original subject was "Lahman Little Dipper Skid Loader". I recently acquired a Little Dipper Model 25 and I have the Lahman user manual which covers all models from the 20 thru the 50. The manual i have a prime mover l1200, its a little bigger machine than yours, but many of the older skid loaders used off the shelf parts. here is a link to an on line manual for the prime mover. it may not be exact, but should get you in the ball park on general information. my hydraulic system uses a 10w40 old spec engine oil, but i found that 15-40 rotella is a good substitute. i . Dad got this little loader last year and it has worked well until this winter. It drives good but the loader hydraulics have been getting slower and slower. Is there two hydraulic pumps or just one that runs both the drive and loader functions? .
I recently got our Skid steer (M20 more than likely) up and going motor was tuned GX670 Honda 24hp changed hydraulic fluid and filter but I am wanting to reseal the bucket tilt cylinder as it leaks. The burning question is does anyone have a source I can go to to identify what kit I need for the cylinder for new seals. Thanks in advance. I put in a new 18 HP Briggs and Stratton. But wished I would have went with a little larger motor after all said and done. Get a hold of a Northern Tool and Equipment book. There should be a engine in there that will bolt up. Measure your shaft, bolt pattern and try to stay with 20 hp or more.
I picked up a Lahman 40 skid steer, it needed some maintenance, so I'm going through everything. The last thing on the list is changing the hydraulic oil and filters. I have the filters, and I have drained the hydraulic oil. It was gold color and had a slight smell of gear oil. I was told, if its gold in color I could use a light weight motor oil.
